THE STAIR
Model Design 2
Material used: Metal used for majority of these stairs. The metal highlights the ideas to be expected in Magnus Walker's workshop. Steel rods are used to surround the stairs whilst the inner mechanisms, (steps and hand railings) are made of wood to develop a contrast between showroom and workshop. The spiral further highlights idea of turning, which is related to the lower level work space.

Material used: Wood used as its physical properties can be manipulated easily whilst still providing an aesthetic appeal to the show room. This aesthetic appeal is enhanced by the glass windows. Furthermore, the concave steps and spiral supports demonstrates the idea of radiating, which is related to the Issey Miyake upper work space.
